Panasonic Integrates Video and POS for Retail Apps
Panasonic System Solutions Company is showcasing a highly integrated solution that combines control and management capabilities of the company’s best-in-breed video surveillance and Point of Sale (POS) systems onto a single seamless platform. The new software-driven solution called Virtual Site Manager (VSM) was developed in cooperation with Compass Group, one of the world’s largest food service companies. VSM is a multi-faceted business tool ideal for any organization with retail sales operations.

Every aspect of a retail environment can benefit from the implementation of Virtual Site Manager. The software pairs POS workstation data with recorded video to provide a comprehensive record of transactions and cashiers’ interactions with customers. In addition to supplementing core POS and video surveillance operations, Panasonic’s VSM provides a wealth of information for various related business operations including senior management, purchasing, human resources and finance.

A complete Panasonic branded solution, VSM allows users to perform data searches for terms like “void”, “coupons” or “no sale” to identify any incidents that have occurred and to deter dishonesty among employees. Additional functionality includes the ability to track and monitor employee attendance, behavior, appearance and more, from anywhere in the world via an Internet connection.

VSM is also a valuable marketing tool that provides analytics of promotional campaigns, product placement and sales activities. While keeping a pulse on daily retail activities from any remote location, users can test and activate marketing and product placement programs at multiple store locations, as well as edit appropriate PLUs, coupons, product prices and taxes.

PCSC introduces a Truly Fault Tolerant System
"Rack Ready," the latest version of the Fault Tolerant Controller (FTC) from PCSC is fitted to a sleek 2U rack mount enclosure. An additional added feature to the rack mount is revealed by a small WiFi antenna extending from the rear of the unit, boasting "Wireless" rack mount controllers inside. If for any reason communications fail, the FTC automatically utilizes one of three alternative communication ports.

Fault Tolerant FTT Controller (FTC) is truly a "Fault Tolerant" access control, alarm monitoring, and output control system. The FTC is the next logical step in the evolution of building security management. In the event of a hardware or firmware failure, redundant FTC's assume the duties of the failed device.

In today's high risk security environment, access control system users can not afford to have their systems fail. Today's systems are not just for access control. These integrated systems commonly monitor alarm points and direct live or recorded video on your network. PCSC's new Fault Tolerant Access Control System is specifically designed for protection from the adverse effects of a system failure.
